A few years ago, due to a policy change on additives in animal feed, the model to formulate feed changed. The use of monensin in calf feed is forbidden. Monensin, an antibiotic belonging to the group of carboxylic ionophores, helped to regulate the flora in the rumen of the calf avoiding the appearance of tympanism and acidosis.

It was then, as a result of this legislative change, when a new feed appeared. This feed was known tocalf farmers as “the bomb”, due to the good results deriving from its high levels of starch and fat.

In the year 2007, in Agroveco we added this formula to our feed, which meant a before and an after in calf feeding, because with it we get best transformation rates in addition to reduce to zero the acidosis and tympanism since it is a very energetic formula.

Now, Agroveco is once again in the forefront of calf feeding with itsCOMPREHENSIVE CALF FEEDING PROGRAM, formulas adapted to work without contributions of straw, which results in a decrease in the total cost of calf feeding as well as adecrease in management costs. In short, it’s a clear commitment to the profitability of calf farms (with the current costs of the raw materials we are talking about savings of between 30 and 40 euros per calf). The formulas have been developed by inzar, experts in animal nutrition.

This program is specifically designed according to the calf breed(crossbreed, Pinto, etc), its sex and age(suckers or pastors).
